Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track building permit applications with local municipalities (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties)
- Maintain regular contact with city and county departments to monitor permit status and address any issues
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisor, engineers, and contractors to ensure all required documentation is provided and compliant
- Respond to permit comments and requests for revisions from permitting agencies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit processes
- Organize and schedule building inspection within the Cities
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a permitting expediter or in a related role within construction, development, or architecture
- Strong knowledge of municipal permitting processes in South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach)
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Proficient with online permitting portals (e.g., ePlans, eDocs, iBuild)
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and problem-solve efficiently
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to municipal offices if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with high-volume or fast-track permitting
- Familiarity with commercial project types
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
